Cleaning & Care

The KR Curve is a personal product that is used internally, so it’s very important to sterilize it before use and clean it well after every use (don’t worry, it’s easy to clean!).

Also, while sharing is caring most of the time, the KR Curve is an exception. This product should NOT be shared. While boil sterilization is sufficient for a single user, it is not as effective as autoclave sterilization (such as that used in hospitals), which is necessary for any shared product that comes in contact with bodily fluids. So keep your KR Curve for yourself, and get your partner/sister/friend one of her own!

STERILIZING BEFORE FIRST USE

  1. Remove the KR Curve from its packaging and place it in a medium pot. Fill the pot with water, ensuring the KR Curve is completely submerged and there is enough water in the pot to keep it submerged while boiling.

  2. Place the pot on the stove over medium to high heat and bring to a boil. Boil for 10 minutes.

  3. Turn off the stove and leave the KR Curve in the pot until the water has cooled to room temperature.

CLEANING THE KR CURVE AFTER EACH USE

Dishwasher cleaning:

  1. Place the KR Curve in the upper rack of the dishwasher (make sure it’s secure).

  2. When the cycle is done, rinse the KR Curve under very warm water to remove any potential detergent residue.

  3. Place on a clean towel to air-dry, and allow it to cool completely before use or storage in its cotton bag/case.

Hand washing:

  1. Rinse the KR Curve under very warm water.

  2. Using an unscented liquid soap, wash the KR Curve well with your hands. (Do NOT use a cloth or sponge as they harbour bacteria.) Rinse under very warm water.

  3. Set the KR Curve on a clean towel to air-dry before storing in its cotton bag/case.

Sterilizing after first use:

We recommend sterilizing the KR Curve periodically, or as you deem necessary for cleanliness. Before following the sterilizing instructions outlined above, we recommend a quick wash with unscented soap and warm water to remove lubricant and bodily fluid residues before boiling.
